It is evident that one part of Old Belief manuscripts from Saratov collection is local by origin [descent]. The similarity of handwriting of a range of manuscripts, closeness of ornament style and binding, similarity of contents prove that. Some of the manuscripts from the Rare Books department and the museum of local lore were written by Tarentiy Ivanovich Puchkov, the skillful handwriter, who worked at the end of XIX century. But in the most cases the Old Belief masters did their work unanimously according to medieval canons.
