A close-up of a model 1851, 36 cal. Colt Navy percussion revolver matching serial number 129947. The revolver has walnut grips, brass butt strap, trigger guard and front sight with 60% bluing. Engraved in script on the butt "H.B. Carrington, Col. 18th Inf. U.S.A." The cylinder is engraved with ships and "Colt's Patent No. 9947." On the front edge of the cylinder is "Engaged 18 May 1843." The octagonal barrel top is stamped "Address Col. Saml. Colt New-York U.S. America." And the inspection stamp "C" is left of the trigger guard. The barrel measures: 7.25 in.
