Western Trails explored the adaptability/adoptability of the Colorado Digitization Project model for collaboration among cultural heritage institutions, focusing digitization efforts on a statewide basis. The State Libraries of Wyoming, Nebraska, and Kansas led these explorations. This collection represents the Western Trails contributions from the State of Wyoming.

Currency, Drovers Bank, 1856
Rectangular, paper bank issued (not government) currency. In all four corners of the front is a circle with an intricate design around the number "2." Centered at the top in black, block print "The Drovers Bank" followed by "Will Pay Two Dollars On Demand to the Bearer." Below the "2" in the upper left corner is "Salt Lake City, July 12, 1856" and below the upper right "2" is "Utah." Near the lower right "2" is a red number "1244." In the center is a detailed illustration of five cows, a bull and several sheep. Currency, Fifty Cents
The front side of a rectangular, green paper currency with black print and an ornate scalloped border. The front of the currency in the left corner is a twelve sided shield containing "50." The upper right corner is numbered in red "3523." A domed beehive design resides in the lower right corner with "Presiding Bishops Office." In the center of the bill is an ornately designed "Fifty Cents." The currency is redeemable at "General Tithing Store House" and described as "Good Only For Merchandise and Produce at the General Tithing Store House, Salt Lake City, Utah." On the reverse side is an abstract motif with a center circle containing the Salt Lake Tabernacle., This file is derived using a high-resolution Olympus Mavica 1000 digital camera and saved as an uncompressed TIFF image.

Diary kept by Robert Dunlap Clarke from May-July 1868 while serving as a U.S. Army paymaster to Forts Phil Kearny, Fetterman, and Reno in present-day Wyoming and Fort C.F. Smith in present-day Montana.
